We are always thrilled to get to meet fellow small business owners and even better when we are chosen to complete their build-out in the space they have chosen. One thing these fellow business owners have in common is a dream to have a successful business. We keep up with these businesses and check in to see how they are doing. We shop or dine there when we can or at least drive by when we are in the area. Sometimes we are sad to find out that despite all their planning and hard work they have had to “close up shop”. Commercial spaces can be white boxed and turned over to lease to a new tenant within about 6 weeks. We have even had to demo our own build-outs for the shopping center owner and get them ready for the next tenant.

However, there are some great success stories we have been thrilled to have been a part of the construction process. Urban Wok in Brookhaven Atlanta, Georgia is one of those stories. When we were approached by the to-be franchisee of the first Atlanta location of Urban Wok, we could tell right away that he was going to do well here. The owner had a successful business background and added to that by opening his restaurant in the mixed-use development, Town Brookhaven. TOWN/Brookhaven is a state-of-the-art mixed-use development in Atlanta's Brookhaven community, Peachtree Road, north of Lenox Square Mall and Phipps Plaza. The build-out for this restaurant went very smoothly, largely because an excellent designer has been chosen to create the plans for this fusion restaurant concept. Using the open ceiling with exposed duct work helped make this smaller space feel larger, as did the white shiplap walls which show off the modern Urban Wok branding. This space concept utilized crisp white subway tile and stainless steel on multiple surfaces which made this restaurant feel clean and modern. We are thrilled to know that the Urban Wok location is still thriving despite the challenges in the post-covid market and we wish the Urban Wok team continued success for many years to come!
